The principle of liposome extrusion is that the liposome sample particles are extruded through a certain extrusion power source to passthrough the PC filter membrane under certain pressure conditions. This pressure acts as the shear force in the particle membrane process to achieve the effect of particle size control. Regardless of morphology, size and distribution can be greatly improved.

MAIN APPLICATION
After the sample is hydration to form liposomes, the sample will be initially treated by high pressure homogenization or ultrasound.After treatment, the particle size and distribution of the sample will be improved, but often can not meet the ideal requirements. At this point, the sample is entered from the feed inlet in the figure below, and the sample is extruded from the filter membrane by highpressure nitrogen, and the particle size and distribution of the squeezed sample will be further improved.
Because phospholipids have a certain phase change temperature, the extruder jacket needs to be preheated to a certain temperature (e. g., 70'c) before extrusion, and it should be kept at this temperature during use. The particle size of the usual liposome varieties can reach less than 100nm after extrusion, and the PDl can be controlled below 0.1.
